“How can therapy help me? What can you tell me that I don’t already know?”- these are ideas that are fairly common for many people considering therapy. After all, society tells us that “emotions are yucky” and can be difficult to face- so what can therapy do for you that will actually benefit you? I believe that therapy is not about the therapist “telling you” about yourself, but is instead to explore what is holding you back from reaching your full potential.

My journey as a therapist led me to work with individuals of various backgrounds, mental health struggles, and past/current trauma. I believe in using techniques and methods that are appropriate based on the needs of the client, but my primary modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

A healthy partnership between the client and the therapist is crucial to reaching the goals that you set for therapy. I believe my purpose is to teach you the tools needed that will empower you to move forward and live your life to the fullest.

Zena Vevaina

Hi and Welcome! I would like to offer my hand in your journey. Oftentimes, people seek therapy when they are in a crisis such as a challenge in marriage, infidelity, difficulty with an adolescent, a transition, depression, anxiety, psychosis or addiction. Sometimes people seek therapy when they need someone to help them reframe an issue or have a different perspective. I value and respect each individual I work with. I work with Adults, Children, Adolescents, Couples and Families using many different theoretical approaches tailored to match your unique needs and personality.

I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Humanistic Approach. I also practice Emotionally Focused Therapy, which focuses on how you interact in your current primary relationships and teaches you how to unravel the dance you have with your intimate partner, parent or child.

If you desire someone to work with that is passionate, strengths-based, collaborative and interactive, I am here to walk this journey with you. Take my hand and let’s work together to get you unstuck and climbing upwards towards your envisioned life.

I am a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor that utilizes an eclectic modality and believes therapy should be tailored to the individual client. I primarily utilize existential, person-centered, and psychodynamic frameworks. Therapy is a collaborative relationship, where the client takes the lead. I believe effective therapy is a mix of validating individual experiences while at the same time confronting ways of thinking that may be contributing to unhealthy behaviors. A strong therapeutic relationship is key for successful therapy. Therefore I strive to be open-minded, non-judgmental, and authentic in my approach to therapy.

I offer appointments Tuesday – Friday (limited evening availability).

Life is complicated and painful. You deserve the respect, confidentiality, attention, and compassion that I offer as a Professional Mental Health Counselor. Porn/sex addiction (and partner/familial effects), occupational stress (military/veterans, law enforcement, first responders), separation/divorce/infidelity, trauma/PTSD, domestic abuse/violence, and grief/loss issues, are some of the areas in which I have clinical experience and training. I have worked in mental health since 2008, and spent four years at an inpatient crisis residential facility working with suicidal and high-risk patients, and am a Montana Red Cross member.

Having over 400 hours of clinical and occupational-specific (POST) law enforcement and military training, and having shadowed over 500 hours with law enforcement and first responders in four states, I have the experience needed that lends itself well to working with individuals, couples and families affected by these occupations and our judicial system.

I offer individual, couples, family, and group counseling, and provide professional on-site services for my clients and their families. I also offer after-hours and crisis counseling (Bozeman Deaconess, Hope House, etc.). Please email, text (347-840-1157), or call me today for your counseling needs or crisis situation.

Zehra Rizvi

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience in a variety of psychological services including counseling, assessment, and case management. My goal in therapy is to provide clients with the tools necessary for developing a sense of empowerment that will assist them in overcoming their challenges. I believe that by restructuring the perception of our world and, subsequently, our responses to the environment, we can improve our sense of well-being. By building the therapeutic trust and offering a safe place where my clients can share their concerns, we can work together to help you heal and grow.

Since no single modality is appropriate for everyone, I use an eclectic approach in treatment. My training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Reality Therapy, Psychodynamic, as well as therapeutic methods founded on Asian philosophy. I engage in a holistic approach to therapy.

Seeking help is the first step towards a healthier you! It isn’t easy sharing our challenges and vulnerabilities with others, but I can assure you that after our initial visit you will leave knowing that you are in trustworthy and capable hands. We will make your goals for therapy our priority and nurture you back to feeling whole again.

Zehra Metovic-Barnes

In life we face inevitable challenges and misfortune that can contribute to emotional distress and stagnancy. I work with individuals to help them find meaning, strength and growth in their hardships as a way to move forward to reach their goals and full potential. I utilize an eclectic approach, implementing various strategies and modalities of treatment to meet one’s needs and goals. I have a strong foundation in Cognitive-Behavioral techniques to help clients gain perspective and foster a more positive outlook, with the goal of promoting an improved sense of wellbeing and happiness.

With over 20 years of experience, I have gained invaluable experience treating a broad and diverse population with acute and chronic behavioral health issues, including trauma, often utilizing trauma-informed care. Being bicultural/bilingual has sharpened my lens to appreciate how culture, background, and individual differences impact human behavior.

I find it an absolute honor to be part of an individual’s life journey and to be that objective or neutral perspective, something that can be difficult to obtain from family or friends, despite their best intentions. My style is direct, yet warm and collaborative. I offer a non-judgmental, supportive and trusting environment, a powerful catalyst for change.

Zehra Ansari

Individuals and families of immigrants from a Muslim background can go through much psychological turmoil for being minorities in a mainstream culture that misunderstands them. This may lead to low self esteem, anxiety and depression. They would need affirmations and support to find balance between cultures and find peace within themselves. They would require special understanding of their own culture and the mainstream culture to develop confidence in themselves and be assertiveness while being respectful to everyone around them. A good therapist would instill a sense of wellbeing in them as they contribute positively to life.

I have worked as a psychologist for 36 years in Minnesota with many of my clients coming from the above described background. Consequently, I have developed cultural competency through experience and education. I am an immigrant myself and have raised my family here in the US. I can help one sort out this conflict, so one can have a peaceful/balanced life.

Hello, my name is Zehra Ansari. I am an immigrant from India and have lived in the U S for many years. I know how tough it can get for a person to balance between the western values around you and the religious standards from your culture. I can support/guide you to alleviate this stress and bring the well deserved inner peace and happiness to you.

I work Saturdays and Thursday (later afternoon and evening).

My style of therapy involves an interactive approach, questioning in a caring way, humor when possible, and feedback that is kind and direct. I have been trained in traditional psychodynamic therapy as well as cognitive-behavioral approach. I am equally comfortable with short or long- term therapy.

Together we will help you to work through the issues that have become problematic in your life and to make healthier choices for yourself. I offer individual psychotherapy services for adults. The greatest power we have is our ability to choose one thought over another. It’s not the situation that affects us, it’s our interpretation. Sometimes it’s hard to take control and begin the process of change, but together we can work to bring mental clarity and mindfulness to begin experiencing life in a whole new light. There is resilience in us all and in our darkest moments we lose sight of our capabilities. No matter where you are in your journey, know there is always another way.

Approaching therapy in a holistic way allows us to focus on the whole person in their environment. My experience working with with neurodivergent people through Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, and Cognitive-Behavior Therapy will help identify what is impacting you the most. Understanding the underlying issue will be the first step in creating change.

By working together we can rediscover the strengths that will help you heal, grow, and empower you to move forward. The most important part of therapy is finding a therapist who aligns with your need and makes you feel heard. I invite you to contact me for a free consultation to discuss your goals and explore any questions you may have.

Like a butterfly emerging into life, a child requires nurturance, safety, and care. I believe in supporting child and adolescent emotional growth and developmental processes throughout the life cycle especially when healing from adversity is necessary. My approach is collaborative working closely with the parents, schools, and collaterals involved to enhance over all well-being in every capacity of the child’s environment. Stemming from a strength-based perspective, using play and expressive art therapies, CBT/DBT, and Somatic Experiencing as theoretical approaches have proven to provide the best outcomes in healing and growth.

Special attention is given to issues of Girlhood. Despite most young girls displaying strong, inherent self-esteem, a natural decline occurs as they mature into adolescent years causing self-harming behaviors, eating disorders, and other detrimental behaviors. A year round Teen Girls Group and parenting workshops are provided as services.

Mindfulness based therapeutic strategies are incorporated into the treatment plan to empower the child/teen in gaining awareness, tuning into themselves emotionally, and coping through stressful times. Hopefully, the child/teen can benefit from the therapeutic relationship, and emerge into adulthood having survived and thrived.

My work focuses on creating body trust and respect, healing from disordered eating behaviors and thoughts, and recovering from diagnosable eating disorders. I have worked across the continuum of all levels of care, age groups, genders, sexual orientations, races, and religions. My work combines honoring your individual story and path towards recovery while simultaneously providing you with the tools, insight, and information you need for that journey. Life is not fair. Each of our lives is unique and different. We have the ability to learn, change, and grow to what we desire for ourselves. We each get our own challenges. Assisting others through my knowledge, life experience, and education is a gift I have grown to know and love. I enjoy helping individuals, couples and families achieve what they desire and to better know and understand themselves and others. I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have friends and loved ones of all races, cultures , and ethnicities and I view life as a great opportunity to serve. Its your car, U drive it.

I specialize with anxiety, depression, substance abuse and addiction challenges and with assisting couples in understanding and changing to develop stronger bonds and learning to accept and help each other grow and move on from mistakes and past challenges. I understand family dynamics and the changes that can assist them to grow together and move forward.

As a farmer, police officer and leader, divorced and married husband/father with a blended family I have experienced the “sea of life”. I understand and welcome the opportunity to assist others in the learning, changes and growth needed to absorb the joys of life and weather the storms that come as part of this quickly passing life experience.

I imagine that you’re looking at this listing because you’re dealing with a problem that you haven’t been able to solve on your own. You may be feeling agitated and worried much of the day, having trouble sleeping, or feeling lost or lonely or down in the dumps. You might be struggling with getting a handle on a habit that you can’t seem to change. Or you may be having difficulty relating to other people, speaking up for yourself, or dealing with anger. Your problem might not even be clearly defined, or you may feel overwhelmed by multiple problems and don’t know where to start. All you know is that something feels not-quite-right.

If you are willing to put in short but consistent bursts of effort between sessions, take risks with my support, and share honestly with me about what is and what is not working in therapy then I firmly believe that I can help you feel better. I don’t believe that therapy should continue on for years. My goal as your therapist is to work myself out of a job.

It can be daunting to find a therapist who will be the right fit for you, and I realize that there are a multitude of choices. I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation via the Feeling Good Institute (see website listing) to see if my services would be right for you.

Isaac Newton once said, “We build too many walls and not enough bridges.” As a therapist it is my goal to assist my clients with rebuilding solid bridges in their lives. I intend to partner with you and begin working toward achieving your personal goals to reach your desired mental health. I have many modalities to utilize in order to achieve your goals, but most importantly I strive to generate a positive environment for you as the client to feel confident in working on your struggles and gain new perspectives in bettering your life.

The modality I utilize the most is EMDR therapy, which assists the client in reprocessing old memories that are hindering the growth and desired life of the client. This therapy is amazing for Anxiety, Trauma, Depression, Self-Esteem, Grief, Social Anxiety, PTSD, and many more.

I’ve worked with a wide range of individuals. I find my ability to connect with the client and begin helping them identify the core issue and then seeing them succeed is my greatest joy. Give me a call and I look forward to working with you!

Rise Above is a private practice and peer support group founded on the principle that sobriety is not boring. Taking the queues from the famous Black Flag song of the same name, Rise Above replaces the human entity of society with each person’s drug of choice. Each person is taking on the challenge to no longer be slave to the substance, but take control and rise above to soar at greater heights, defiantly casting away personal doubt and naysayers using the same passion and punk rock rebellion embedded deep in us all. Ask about our AGI sliding scale.

I use eclectic therapy methods, including CBT and Narrative therapy, to address the triggers and cravings, and create new experiences based in sobriety that leads to long-term recovery. I also assist with Moderation Management, recovery coaching, and other harm reduction practices to meet every person exactly where they are.

I proudly assist clients in exploring new ways to stay involved in the art and music scene, and create new ways of having fun that do not require having to be drunk or high in the process. Everyone has the ability to be unique and authentically themselves no matter what.

More than ever, day to day life can be really hard! We’re all doing the best we know how to do, but certain times it feels like something might be missing. We all need support in different areas to navigate our personal struggles from depression, anxiety, stress management, child behavioral issues, or family communication challenges. I believe in empowering you to identify what your hopeful future and goals look like and helping you to get there in a healthy way. By focusing on these goals, with your strengths and family history, I’ll support you towards growth, healing, and healthy relationship development.

I’ve worked in varied settings and believe it’s important to take a holistic and collaborative approach to counseling to achieve a better understanding of ourselves. I enjoy working with teens and young adults through depression, stress, anxiety and grief, families towards cohesion and better communication, and children towards improved emotional regulation.

As we navigate these transitions, I hope to provide you with a trusting, warm, welcoming, and safe space where you can be empowered to be your whole and true self.

Zana Zeigler

All of us experience some confusion, anxiety, sadness, or conflict periodically, but if daily life becomes characterized by those feelings, something about life is out of balance. Do you feel stuck in a relationship or job, or troubled with negative, or fearful thoughts that won’t go away? Sometimes we can loose a sense of hopefulness and pleasure about life. Perhaps we experienced a recent or far distant loss that left us floundering in sadness and grief. Maybe we have become weary searching for spiritual fulfillment, yet finding most ideas of a higher power to be disheartening or unbelievable.

Counseling is effective for issues like these. My clinical resources include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, AC T, Self-Esteem, existential therapy, trauma informed approaches, and the Grief Recovery Method. I use strength based interventions that confront self-defeating belief systems, access strengths, and help create the life you want to live.

Regardless of our methods, the goal is always to reduce pain and increase fulfillment. I believe in your native capacity for transformation and healing; and it’s okay if that belief is not available to you right now. For more information please visit my website. Let’s talk.

I work with adults, adolescents, and couples. Most of my clients are pursuing insight oriented therapy. They are frequently experiencing life transition issues such as divorce, young adult transition, midlife transition, retirement, and late adult transition. I am an intuitive therapist honoring the unique individuality of each patient. I utilize an eclectic style of psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioral, and insight oriented theory in facilitating clients to realize and create their full potential.

I have practiced for 30 years conducting individual and couples therapy along with groups including self-esteem building for adolescent and adult women, relationship skills for adults of both genders, and process groups.

I approach each client holistically and intuitively. I reject a cookie cutter approach to therapy. I respect each client’s uniqueness and allow their energy to be the clinical focus in our work together. I am the owner of Insight Therapy. As a solo practitioner I provide a safe, nurturing, confidential environment for clients to grow therapeutically.

Zamzam Zaman

My multicultural background affords me the opportunity to reflect on the complexities of cultural assimilation. Individuals who appreciate the nuances of South-Asian-American heritage and are in search of a culturally informed counselor, I would love the opportunity to support you through some of the difficulties you may be experiencing at the moment.

Relatable. Practical. Honest. Meet you right where you are. Not to mention, affordable. These are all things that matter when considering who you’re going to go to as a counselor. Quite often, most don’t want to be in counseling. What if instead, you were able to finally connect to that objective third party who can help challenge and support you to reach whatever goals you may have for yourself?

I take a direct and integrative approach in my effort to help instill hope and help you gain progress to meet those identified goals. With specific training in addictions work, recovery, co-dependency, boundaries, men’s issues, and more, I am capable of helping an array of people who are ready to take that next step towards health in their lives.

When life isn’t going the way you had hoped, it can feel scary and overwhelming. It is when a problem is identified that change may become possible. Contact me today to begin the journey to living a better tomorrow.

Therapy does not have to be a lifetime investment. It should be a goal-driven partnership between the two people in the room. Often we find new goals and have to reassess priorities, shifting back and forth between concrete issues and more abstract concerns with the consistent, overall goal of reducing emotional pain. If you have a question, please email me at zakmucha@gmail.com or call 773-273-0474 and we can plan for a meeting over the phone or in person. I will be glad to answer any questions regarding fees and insurance.

Outside of my private practice, I have been a consultant and therapist for the PROTECT Hero Child-Rescue Corps, a team of U.S. veterans performing forensic investigations. Prior to that, I ran an Assertive Community Treatment team providing 24/7 clinical services to persons suffering severe mental illnesses, drug addictions, and chronic homelessness.

I am currently an analytic candidate at the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis and a board member of the Legislative Drafting Institute for Child Protection (www.ldicp.org).

Whether you are struggling with interpersonal conflict, intimate relationship issues, substance abuse, depression, anxiety or are just feeling “stuck,” seeking a therapeutic relationship that fits well with you is often the first step towards feeling more self-empowered. I approach therapy with the ideology that life is a culmination of interconnected parts. Feelings stem from experiences, experiences influence perceptions, and subsequently guide many of the decisions one makes in life. When individuals experience stagnation or challenges, it may be connected to an array of life experiences. This may lead to a challenge with seeing beyond that which is. The subsequent result may serve as a breeding ground for emotional and physical pain, challenges in interpersonal relationships and unresolved grief.

As a clinician, my goal is to assist clients with exploring these connections, dissecting their point of origin and collaborating with you to develop a viable strategy for resolve.

As a therapist, I want to help clients love well and work well. Often, people experience difficulties in one or both of these areas due to adverse life experiences or trauma that has impacted the way they experience their thoughts, their bodies, and their emotions in relationship with others and the world. As a therapist specializing in addictive behaviors, trauma, and interpersonal difficulties, I utilize an attachment-based approach to treatment that incorporates mindfulness, psychodynamic work, EMDR, and specialized attachment repair protocols.

I believe in helping clients develop a coherent narrative about their lives while also helping them live in their bodies and in intimate relationship with others.

Contact me if you’d like to set up an appointment or have a consultation over the phone. I look forward to meeting you.

I have a wide-ranging experience working with young children to adults. My therapy patients tend to be young adults and middle aged individuals. Affording insight in the lifespan is my goal, and I focus on reaching that goal in a number of different ways. Ultimately, I leave it to my clients to tell me where they want to go and we find a path to get there. Through better insight and goal-oriented purpose, we identify the outcomes to strive for.

I have extensive experience in assessing and addressing trauma and trauma-based concerns, i.e., anxiety and PTSD, and utilize several modalities to address these issues, and to strengthen the coping skills necessary to overcome these concerns. I am also in partnership with local Ketamine clinics to provide Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.

I specialize in a variety of psychological assessments, treatment planning, and work in collaboration with many other health care professionals. Being able to provide treatment options and collaboration with other professionals helps to address all aspects of treatment.

Zacil Ha Contreras

I have a passion for working with families, couples, and individuals. I have felt the hardships of relationships, the struggles of marriage, and know the building and maintaining of a family can be overwhelming at times. I provide a safe space to explore and process those feelings. Being a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate (MFTC), I have the skills and training to support you and your loved ones. My goal in therapy is to help the client see themselves differently. In today’s world, I want to talk about the stuff that is dismissed by expectation, because those are the real topics coming up for families.

Working with couples and families is what I love and do best. I’m direct and like to dive right into the work that needs to be done, while building relationships. I work with individuals, couples & families to provide grief/loss support and life transition support.

I have the honor and privilege to be part of Judi’s House Comprehensive Grief Care community. This wonderful organization was part of my education at Regis and I’m proud to be able to use their “Pathfinders” curriculum with clients. I have recently added EMDR as a resource for clients as well and can’t wait to share it with you all!

My theory is that a combination of a deeper understanding of self, coupled with practical skills, can lead to desired personality change, sustained self-discovery and curiosity, and relief. I utilize a modern relational and collaborative approach along with CBT skills, psychodynamic theory, and a host of trauma-informed practices. I specialize in working with individuals who struggle to regulate emotions and mood, are experiencing interpersonal issues, existential dread, anxiety, depression, chronic suicidality, and/or have experienced childhood trauma.

I provide ongoing individual psychotherapy for ages 18+, psychotherapy for children (ages 6-17), and their families, following a disclosure of abuse, crisis check-ins, and psychedelic Integration sessions. Additionally, I have valued experience working with Trans folks, BIPOC, LGBTQ folks, and polyamorous folks.

I have extensive training in CBT-based therapies, a variety of evidence-based practices, and modern psychodynamic psychotherapy. My previous work experiences include Bellevue Hospital Center, New York University, and City University NY in New York City. When I am not in private practice, I work evenings at the Emergency Department at Legacy Health.

Zach Walker

I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy. When you give yourself the gift of therapy, you give yourself the best chance at a fulfilling life. I help adults, single parents, couples, and any family system, which includes parents and children of all ages, balance the connection between mind, body, and spirit. As children develop, their brains ‘mirror’ their parent’s brain. In other words, the parent’s own growth and development, or lack of those, impact the child’s brain. As parents become more aware and emotionally healthy, their children reap the rewards and move toward health as well.

Do not suffer in silence or think you can power through by yourself. I strive to provide an affirming, empowering and collaborative environment that fosters personal growth and a sense of well-being. I implement a wide variety of biopsychosocial approaches including Person-Centered Therapy, CBT, REBT, Psychoanalysis, and Nutrition Focused Psychoeducation.

Perfection is the enemy of good enough. Let’s be realistic about how HARD life is, while optimistic about how much EASIER it can be! You do not have to stay where you are. YOU have the power to radically change your world from the inside out. Call me today and together, we can unravel the chaos in your world and fill it with purpose, peace, and satisfaction!

Zach Verwey

We all need a space to be heard, understood, and seen. In my practice, I work largely with members of the LGBTQ+ community facing a variety of concerns; with those struggling with poor body image and shame around eating; and with issues such as grief & loss, holistic sexual health, and faith & spirituality through an approach of interpersonal and intrapersonal relationship. I also work frequently with gay men around understanding and navigating the unique pressures and cultural expectations placed upon men in the gay community, including body image, sexual relationships, and substance abuse.

While much of my clinical training and experience has specifically focused on the aforementioned areas, I also have experience walking with clients through relationship issues and changes, life transition, trauma, abuse, and anxiety and depression. Whatever your situation, you will be met with unconditional acceptance, respect, and care.

As we explore issues that may have you feeling stuck, we will work to identify your authentic values and the ways in which you may align with them and explore new ways of being that will help you move toward deeper healing, wholeness, and fulfillment. Learn more at www.zachverwey.com

You’ve tried thinking positive and it isn’t working for you. No matter what you do, you just can’t shake all the mean thoughts you have about yourself. You feel incompetent, broken, and maybe even worthless. When life throws you a curveball, you feel totally incapable of managing on your own. Life is hard, and beating yourself up every day isn’t making your life any easier. I am here to help.

I believe that building self-esteem should always be a priority in therapy because self-esteem is the immune system of the mind. Just like a healthy immune system defends us from illness, a healthy self-esteem offers resilience to stress, anxiety, depression, and more. It gives us the confidence that we can handle whatever life throws at us.

If you’re ready to start building your self-esteem and treating yourself with more compassion, reach out to me today to schedule a free consultation. Starting therapy can feel scary and uncertain, but you won’t regret doing it. I am here to help you sort through your fears, reservations, and questions.

As human beings, we will have situations arise in life that require exploration, understanding, and resolution. This could be anxiety, depression, grief & loss, identity, family conflict, life transitions, or trauma. This could also be systemic injustice and oppression. I strive to help folks identify their strengths and resiliency, using these traits to improve stress management, self-esteem, confidence and overall well-being. When we believe we can tackle life’s obstacles, we begin to face them directly and experience empowerment.
